Optimized code for reduced machine resources
KiwiBackup uses the Go language, replacing Python in our development. This technical choice, far from trivial, has a direct impact on the energy efficiency of our solution. Unlike Python, an interpreted language that requires significant machine resources each time it runs, Go is a compiled language that runs natively on the machines being backed up. This optimization limits the power consumption of customer equipment while delivering better performance.
Eco-responsible infrastructure for data hosting

OVH, thanks to its innovative liquid cooling system, has one of the lowest PUEs (Power Usage Effectiveness) in the industry. These data centers are powered by a low-carbon energy mix, particularly in France.
Extendo DataCenter, located in Belfort, relies on natural cooling ("free cooling") and is exploring hydrogen-based solutions to replace diesel generators, thereby reducing the carbon footprint of its operations.
