Responsiveness is the key to a successful backup strategy. This new KiwiBackup update transforms your notification system to give you precise control over the information you receive. No more information overload: get what matters, at the right time.
What’s new in your alerts?
This update brings unprecedented granularity to the management of your backup reports. You can now configure your notifications according to your own urgency criteria.
1. Alerts targeted by backup status
You can now filter which emails are sent based on the task result:
"Error" alerts only: Ideal for keeping your inbox clean and stepping in only when corrective action is needed
"Success" reports: To keep a complete history and reassure your customers or management
Inactivity notifications: Get an alert if a device has not connected for X days
2. Multiple, customized recipients
Contact management has been made more flexible to fit the way your company is organized:
Group sending: Add several email addresses for the same report (technician, IT manager, end customer)
Scope-based segmentation: Send accounting backup reports to a different contact than production reports
3. Clean design and quick reading
The email format has been redesigned for optimized reading on smartphones and computers:
Visual indicators: A clear color code (green/red) lets you check the health of your fleet in a second
Technical details: In the event of an error, the essential information is highlighted so your teams can diagnose the issue immediately
Why enable these new notifications?
Less "alert fatigue": By receiving only errors, you stay focused on real problems instead of ignoring dozens of daily emails.
Time savings: No need to log in to the interface to check that everything is fine; the information comes to you in a structured way.
Improved SLA: Respond faster to incidents and guarantee your users uninterrupted protection.
How do you configure your new alerts?
Settings are configured directly in your administration console, under the "Configuration" > "Notifications" tab.
Select the relevant account or group of devices.
Check the types of events you want to monitor (Success, Error, Warning).
Enter the destination email address or addresses.
Confirm: your new reports are ready!
