Release | Custom scheduling and automatic restart

Optimize your backups with scheduling by day and time window. Take advantage of automatic restarts of missed backups and simplified pre-configuration for your White Label kits.

Release | Custom scheduling and automatic restart

1. Scheduling backup days and related alerts

To give you greater flexibility, you can now schedule your backup days and time window to suit your specific needs: for example daily, every Monday, or Mondays and Wednesdays... You can thus choose to back up your data only from Monday to Friday, which avoids backup alerts when your machine is turned off on days off. Alerts will be based on the frequency of your backups to ensure that they run as planned.

When configuring the backup time, you can now choose a time window. Your backup will start automatically at a randomly chosen time within this window. This prevents congestion caused by many computers having identical backup times.

2. Custom kit with pre-configuration and tutorial

Are you a partner using the White Label customization features? The customizable kit can now be pre-configured to make it easier to configure and deploy at scale on the computers covered by the same contract. This feature comes with a detailed tutorial to guide you through the entire configuration process. This makes it easier to get started with your Customizable Kit.

3. Starting the backup when a schedule is missed

We have introduced a new feature that automatically restarts a backup if the initial schedule failed (for example, if your laptop was turned off during the scheduled time window). This way, even if you are away or something unexpected happens, your data remains protected without any manual intervention on your part. The backup will start automatically when you turn your machine back on.

4. New command-line feature

A new "updateconfig" command is available in the command-line management interface. It lets you modify your configuration files without the risk of breaking their formatting through manual edits.

The various configuration keys available let you adapt the software's behavior to your specific needs.

E.g.: "updateconfig --key files.use_vss 1": backs up open files on Windows
